Richard Oaxaca is originally from Texas where he grew up competing in gymnastics and cheerleading and was named “America’s Best Cheerleader” four times by the National Cheerleaders Association. He graduated with an MFA in Dance from Case Western Reserve University in 2016. He was then accepted into the teacher training program at the Martha Graham Studio in New York City. Richard danced for Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, Norwegian, and Disney Cruise Lines where he portrayed The Magic Carpet in “Aladdin.” He appeared on Season 7 of “America’s Got Talent,” choreographed for Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, and performed at the 2012 World Fair in Korea. He has taught at Case Western Reserve, The University of Wisconsin, and is the former Assistant Director of Dance at Notre Dame College in Euclid, Ohio. Recently he was the Director of Dance at Dance With Energy in Weymouth, MA. Richard joined the Dancing Wheels company in the 2022-2023 season.
