
Emilyann Dustman (she/her) graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance in 2024. Throughout her academic journey, Dustman engaged in a variety of residencies through NCC Akron, collaborating with esteemed choreographers such as Gibney, Christopher K. Morgan, Helanius J. Wilkins, Cara Hagan, Alexandra Barbier, Ben Needham-Wood, and John Heginbotham. During her time in college, she accepted a scholarship to participate in the Groundworks 2022 Winter Intensive, where she honed her craft and deepened her artistic vision. In 2022, Dustman became a key member of the Cleveland Dance Company, contributing as a company member, choreographer, and outreach facilitator. Her extensive experience further expanded in 2024 with a seasonal contract with The Movement Project and a full-time touring contract with Dancing Wheels Company. During her time with Dancing Wheels, she has collaborated with renowned choreographers Glauco Araujo, Catherine Meredith, and Amy Hall Garner, enriching her artistic repertoire. Some freelance highlights from her performance career include involvement in ‘Spurious,’ mentored by Stephen Petronio and choreographed by Jessica Bennett, debuting ‘Where I End, and You Begin’ with Mojo Co. Lab at the 2024 Detroit Dance City Festival and performing Christine Howe’s innovative piece ‘refracting the self’ in 2024. As an educator and leader in the dance community, Dustman has served as the Artistic Director for Tempo Dance Company and has worked with outreach programs at Akron After-School through Weathervane Theatre and Pointillism Jazz. She is passionate about empowering others through her performances, choreography, and educational initiatives, and she continues to collaborate with On Your Toes and Revolutions Dance Academy.
