SUMMARY:Dancing Wheels Masterclass in Physically Integrated Dance Technique
DESCRIPTION:Founder and Artistic Director Mary Verdi-Fletcher along with Dancing Wheels Company members will provide a hands-on step-by-step application in the techniques of physically integrated dance used and developed by the Company for the past 36 years. The methodologies applied in this class (available in our published manual) will range from an integrated modern class using translation\, partnering\, and technical aspects of wheelchair technique. \nThe cost for this Masterclass is $20 and space must be reserved by calling the offices at 216-432-0306 or by enrolling online. \nCandidates interested in auditioning for the Company (starting at 12:15pm) are strongly encouraged to take the Masterclass.

DESCRIPTION:ON DISPLAY/CLEVELAND\, a movement installation by Heidi Latsky and facilitated by The Dancing Wheels Company in Cleveland\, celebrates people of all abilities. \nFriday\, October 20\, 2017 • 12:00pm-1:00pm\nAt University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center – Lerner Tower Lobby \nON DISPLAY/CLEVELAND is the local platform of an annual worldwide initiative ON DISPLAY GLOBAL that was started by Heidi Latsky Dance in 2015 to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. It is a sculpture court where the performers are the sculptures. \nUtilizing the Lerner Tower Lobby at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center\, The Dancing Wheels Company and additional community members will conduct “ON DISPLAY/Cleveland” on Friday\, October 20th during the lunch hour (11:30am-1:30pm) for UH employees\, patients\, visitors\, and our own invited guests. This performance installation will be video recorded and submitted to HLD for use at ON DISPLAY GLOBAL and on “International Day for Persons with Disabilities”. \nOn Sunday\, December 3rd\, ON DISPLAY/CLEVELAND performance installation will be at UH again\, starting at 1pm in the The Atrium\, to be a part of this international celebration of every person!
