DESCRIPTION:Dancing Wheels Company & School in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland(moCa) presents “To Have and To Hold\,” an evening performance by and with Dancing Wheels Company members and apprentices held on Saturday\, October 21\, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at moCa Cleveland (11400 Euclid Avenue\, Cleveland\, OH 44106). \nThis performance is in conjunction with an exhibit of visual artists with disabilities titled “Don’t Mind if I Do” organized in collaboration with Finnegan Shannon\, moCa curator Lauren Leving\, and inspired by visual artist Pelenakeke who hails from New Zealand. \nChoreographers McKenzie Beaverson\, Angelina DiFranco\, Annette Ellis\, Brian Murphy\, and DeMarco Sleeper from the Dancing Wheels Company were invited to create dances based on their own personal impressions of the art exhibited by each visual artist whose work showcases an inclusive representation of bodies and spaces. \nThe performance will conclude with an audience talk back.
