DESCRIPTION:The Coronavirus may have cancelled our planned premiere of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Cain Park this summer\, but that hasn’t deterred us. The Dancing Wheels Company is planning a magical event for our supporters on Friday and Saturday August 21 and 22. \nThe Preview \nDancing Wheels’ choreographer\, Catherine Meredith has reimagined this fun and frolicking Shakespearean comedy for our sit-down and stand-up dancers. Our company members will be performing recorded excerpts from this new work at some of Cleveland’s loveliest garden sites. These excerpts will be narrated by our own storyteller\, Sara Lawrence-Sucato\, to give our audience members a virtual taste of the full work which we’ll present in 2021. You’ll be able to tune into this event virtually by streaming on your computer or smart device. \nAnd A Picnic\, Too! \nMake the preview more magical by adding a picnic to the experience! A Midsummer Night’s Dream Preview Picnic can be delivered to your door. This picnic\, created by Driftwood Catering\, includes a curated charcuterie and cheese selection with assorted nuts and dried fruit\, a baguette\, and a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy while you tune into the preview performance. The picnic serves up to 4 guests. \n  \nThere are three ways you can support Dancing Wheels and experience this magical event with us. The first two options are invitations to Adopt a Dancer as a Director or Producer\, both of which include our Preview Picnic provided by Driftwood Catering and available to residents of Cuyahoga and adjacent counties on Friday and Saturday August 21 and 22. Now\, you can get in your car with your loved ones\, and soak in multiple performances at locations throughout the greater Cleveland area! Join us for this unique traveling show – where YOU are the one that travels!As travelers\, you will be able to purchase a ticket by choosing from an East Side\, West Side\, Downtown\, or a “Surprise me” location. Then you will have the opportunity to see different performances of varying styles. As an artistic traveler\, you will have no idea what performance style you will get to see next\, truly making this an adventure.\n\nThe Dancing Wheels Company will be performing “Dancing in the Street”\, an audience interactive performance set to “Dancing in the Street” by David Bowie and Mick Jagger. A company dancer will lead in teaching movement for “Dancing in the Streets” that audience members will be able to learn from their cars. The performance will culminate in a dance party\, and audience members will be able to perform alongside dancers while seated inside their cars.Each artistic journey will take around 2 hours\, including travel time. The journey begins on Saturday\, August 15th.
