DESCRIPTION:A plethora of music\, song\, and dance will bring to the stage the passion and dynamic work of women of color who revolutionized the 1920’s—1950’s jazz era changing the tenor and tone of the genre and paving the way for female vocal and musical artists throughout history. \nTo honor the Legendary Ladies of Jazz\, The Dancing Wheels Company will join female choreographers Catherine Meredith\, Staycee Pearl\, and Laura Ann Smyth to tell the dynamic stories of historical women vocalists and musicians in jazz. A special guest appearance by the School of Dancing Wheels Performance Ensemble will be sure to delight everyone! \nJune 16\, 2023 \nAllen Theatre at Playhouse Square \nCo-Sponsored by The National Endowment for the Arts and The Bennett Family \nSchedule of Events: \n6:30 p.m. THE VIP EVENT will commence in the exquisite lobby of the Allen Theatre where guests will find an abundance of scrumptious hors d’oeuvres\, free flowing spirits\, an élégant caractère silent auction\, and fanciful fun for all! \n7:45 p.m. VIP GUESTS will be escorted to their dress circle seats to begin their legendary experience. \n8:00 p.m. Performance (wheelchair access\, sign interpretation\, and audio description available) \n9:30 p.m. FOLLOWING THE PERFORMANCE all guests will be invited back into the lobby for a champagne and dessert reception to meet the artists and continue the festivities! \nTicket Types: \nVIP tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased through Eventbrite or by calling the Dancing Wheels office at 216-432-0306. \nPurchase VIP tickets here \nGeneral admission tickets are $50 (groups of ten or more and student tickets with ID are $35) and can be purchased by calling the Playhouse Square box office at 216-241-6000 or online. \nPurchase general admission tickets here \nTickets are available May 1.

DESCRIPTION:Launched in 2018\, the Big Umbrella Festival centers audiences with autism and other developmental disabilities by sharing unique approaches to sensory-based\, interactive\, and intimate artistic experiences to meet audiences exactly as they are. The Dancing Wheels Company will present as a Guest Artist at the Festival with a series of performances throughout the three-day festival.
